Given the rising rates environment I remembered I had a photo with Alan Greenspan who had raised interest rates from 3% to 6% from February 1994 to February 1995 to keep inflation in check. Then in 2000 he imposed successive increases which some say led to the dot-com bubble burst - sounds familiar anyone? So I proudly showed the attached photo to a potential client and said, "I do have a photo with a famous person who is quite relevant to today's market environment!"
His response, "Is that some Hollywood actor?" (演员 could mean actor or actress)
Perhaps I should have said yes to get the deal. But no, I informed the prospect that it's just a much-younger Chauwei and Alan Greenspan who used to be the Federal Reserve Chairman. And just to clarify I'm not some Hollywood superstar (yet).
